PITTSBURGH, PA — The Pittsburgh Steelers received great news on Kenny Pickett’s knee injury as the quarterback is expected to be “fine,” according to Pittsburgh Post-Gazette’s Gerry Dulac.
Dulac reports Pickett’s MRI results show he avoided serious injury such as an ACL tear and MCL sprain. As for his timetable to return, it’s unknown today, but the team hasn’t ruled out him playing against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 5.
Pickett went down on a 4th and 1 play after a sack from Texans defender Jonathan Greenard. He was tended to by trainers on the field before being helped to the locker room. Walking off, he could not put his full weight on his left leg.
Pickett was seen at the team’s practice facility the day after the game without a brace on and walking with no notable limp.
If Pickett does miss time, Mitch Trubisky will replace him. Trubisky is 2-3 as a starter, but if the team is taking a cautious approach, they could keep Pickett off the field until after the bye week.
