PITTSBURGH, PA — It appears that the Pittsburgh Steelers are moving on from wide receiver Anthony Miller, who sent out a Goodbye tweet hinting at his departure.
The Steelers had resigned Miller to a one-year contract in January and he was expected to compete for time as a slot receiver in his third season with the team but he did not appear in a game last year for the Steelers after suffering a season-ending injury in the preseason.
He played in one contest after coming over from the Houston Texans and signing with the practice squad in 2021. He caught one pass for two yards in a November game against the Bengals that year.
Prior to coming to Pittsburgh, Miller was a second-round pick of the Chicago Bears, where he appeared in 47 games – starting 17 – and caught passes from current Steelers quarterback Mitch Trubisky. Miller tallied 134 receptions for 1,564 yards and 11 touchdowns over three seasons. He also amassed 183 kick return yards from 2018 to 2020 in Chicago.
