The Pittsburgh Steelers prepare for Ravens backup quarterback.

PITTSBURGH, PA — The Pittsburgh Steelers will not face Lamar Jackson in the final regular season meeting between them and the Baltimore Ravens. Head coach John Harbaugh announced the team is starting Tyler Huntley in Week 18.

The Ravens will head into the playoffs as the top seed in the AFC, with or without a win over the Steelers. So, they’ll shut down Jackson for the final game, keeping him healthy for their first postseason matchup.

In his place will be Huntley, who is 1-1 against the Steelers all-time. He’s 3-5 as a starter in the NFL, throwing for 1,811 yards and seven touchdowns to seven interceptions.

The Steelers need to beat the Ravens and get some help to earn a wildcard spot in the postseason. They could lose to Baltimore and still earn a spot, but their easiest path would be to win in Week 18 and then hope either the Buffalo Bills lose to the Miami Dolphins or the Jacksonville Jaguars lose to the Tennessee Titans.

It’s unknown what starters will miss Week 18 for the Ravens, but the expectation is that several of their first-team players will be sidelined.
