Steelers Meeting With Former Bills Center Mitch Morse

The Pittsburgh Steelers are beginning their search for a new center.

PITTSBURGH, PA — The Pittsburgh Steelers are bringing in former Buffalo Bills center Mitch Morse ahead of free agency, according to Trib Live’s Joe Rutter. Morse was recently released by Buffalo, allowing him to sign elsewhere at any time.

Morse, 31, has started 126 of the 126 games he’s played in during his NFL career. He spent the first four years of his career in Kansas City with the Chiefs before playing in Buffalo for the next five.

The Steelers are in search of a center this offseason after releasing veteran Mason Cole. They currently hold roughly $20 million in available cap space and could look to add both a veteran in free agency and a rookie during the NFL Draft.

So far, Morse is the only free agent center the Steelers have reportedly spoken with, but they should continue to add to their list of interested candidates. League sources have named former Los Angeles Rams’ Brian Allen as a free agent of interest for Pittsburgh.

When it comes to the NFL Draft, they have scheduled a pre-draft visit with West Virginia center Zach Frazier, and met with several prospects at the NFL Combine.
