PITTSBURGH, PA – The Pittsburgh Steelers announced Friday they will wear a No. 3 helmet sticker throughout the season to honor late quarterback Dwayne Haskins, who died tragically in April after being hit by a truck.

The sticker will display a No. 3, the number the former Ohio State football star wore while with Pittsburgh.

In April, Haskins was fatally struck by a dump truck near Fort Lauderdale, Fla., while attempting to cross Interstate 595 on foot. Haskins was in Florida training with Steelers teammates after signing a one-year restricted free agent tender a month earlier.

Haskins was originally drafted No. 15 overall by Washington in 2019. In two seasons, he threw for over 2,800 yards with a 60.1% completion rate, with 12 touchdowns and 14 interceptions.

Prior to Pittsburgh and Washington, Haskins was a standout for the Buckeyes, where he posted a 13-1 record as a starter. He set the single-season records for passing and touchdown at Ohio State and the Big Ten, passing for more than 4,000 yards with 50 touchdowns.
