PITTSBURGH, PA — The Pittsburgh Steelers added another name to their practice squad, signing former Minnesota Vikings defensive back Kalon Barnes, the team announced.

The Carolina Panthers originally drafted Barnes in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft. After being cut before the regular season, he spent most of the 2022 campaign on the Miami Dolphins practice squad, before being signed to the Minnesota Vikings active roster in mid-December.

Barnes played college ball at Baylor, where he recorded 23 tackles and an interception his senior season. He finished his college career with three interceptions, 14 pass break ups, 2.5 for a loss and a forced fumble.

The Steelers recently released cornerback Anthony Brown from the practice squad and placed cornerback Josiah Scott on the practice squad/injured list. They also re-signed corner Luq Barcoo to the squad.
