PITTSBURGH, PA — The Pittsburgh Steelers have added another name to their linebacker room, signing undrafted rookie Toby Ndukwe to their 90-man roster, the team announced.
Ndukwe tried out for the team during rookie minicamp and landed a spot for the summer, joining Mark Robinson and Tanner Muse in competition for the depth pieces in the inside linebacker room.
The rookie linebacker comes from SMU (2017-2021) and Sam Houston State (2022). Last season, he recorded 34 tackles, 19 of them solo stops, 10 tackles for a loss, five quarterback hits, two pass breakups, one interception and half a sack. During his time at SMU, he accumulated 26 tackles, six tackles for a loss, 4.5 sacks and a fumble recovery in 43 games.
The Steelers also announced the release of three players; running back Master Teague and linebackers Tae Crowder and Emeke Egbule. With the moves, they now have three open roster spots heading into OTAs and minicamp.
