PITTSBURGH, PA — The Pittsburgh Steelers are bringing over an AFC North coach, hiring defensive line assistant Jason Brooks, according to Ravens Sports writer Jeff Zrebiec.
Brooks comes from the Baltimore Ravens, where he was the d-line assistant for John Harbaugh. His time with the Ravens started in 2009 and went until 2013 when he left to return to college football. He then returned in 2021.
Brooks’s career started in 2006 as a grad assistant for Middle Tennessee State. From there, he headed to the Miami Dolphins in 2007 to work as a scouting assistant and tight ends assistant.
Throughout his time as a coach, Brooks has worked for Miami, Baltimore, Middle Tennessee State, Florida International, Maine’s Colby College, and Charleston Southern.
Brooks joins Karl Dunbar as the Steelers’ defensive line coach. So far in free agency, the team has brought back Larry Ogunjobi. He’ll be working with Ogunjobi, Cam Heyward, and up-and-comers DeMarvin Leal and Isaiahh Loudermilk this season.
