PITTSBURGH, PA — The Pittsburgh Steelers will stick with Mason Rudolph at quarterback in Week 17 against the Seattle Seahawks, following a strong performance in his start against the Cincinnati Bengals.
With Kenny Pickett still nursing an ankle injury, the Steelers will stick with Rudolph as their starter for another week. The veteran threw for 290 yards and two touchdowns, leading Steelers to a 34-11 victory in Week 16.
The Steelers remain in the playoff hunt but will likely need to win their final two games to have a chance at re-entering the wildcard picture before the end of the regular season. They’ll travel to Seattle and then head to Baltimore to face the Ravens.
Coach Tomlin said that the team will “see” how far Pickett is in his progress throughout the week. Like last week, they do not expect Pickett to return, and hence, Rudolph will be the starter for another week.
Rudolph is 6-4-1 as a starter for the Steelers.
