PITTSBURGH, PA — The Pittsburgh Steelers are reuniting with former inside linebacker Myles Jack, signing the veteran to their practice squad, according to

Jack, 28, spent the 2022 season with the Steelers, starting 13 games and totaling 104 tackles. He was released in free agency before signing with the Philadelphia Eagles during training camp. However, after just two weeks with Philly, Jack announced his retirement from the league.

After being waived by the Eagles through the retirement list, Jack and the Steelers grew mutual interest in a reunion. That is now coming to fruition as he’s set to begin his journey back to the field through Pittsburgh’s practice squad.

The Steelers signed Mykal Walker to their 53-man roster to replace Kwon Alexander and Cole Holcomb, but the group still has just three players on the depth chart. Jack could be the team’s next signing to the active roster after he’s physically ready to begin working on game days.

Pittsburgh could also consider undrafted rookie Tariq Carpenter, who they have elevated from the practice squad for the last two games.
