The Pittsburgh Steelers officially declared DE Hamilcar Rashed off of waivers from the Jets on Wednesday and waived pound Ulysees Gilbert with an injury classification in a matching relocation.
Gilber will revert to Pittsburgh’s hurt reserve as soon as he goes through waivers unclaimed.
Rashed, 24, signed on with the Jets as an undrafted free agent out of Oregon State in 2021. The New York Jets elected to cut him loose earlier today.
During his four-year college career, Rashed appears in 43 video games and made 28 starts, recording 143 takes on, 36 takes on for loss, 16.5 sacks, four forced fumbles, and 7 pass defenses.
